Diego Gonzalez Figueroa
Diego, currently serving as Assistant Vice President – Analyst in the Latin American Project and Infrastructure finance team, holds a role in leading the analytical processes for a diverse range of infrastructure companies and issuers across Latin America and the Caribbean. His portfolio spans various sectors including energy generation, airports, utilities and public-private-partnerships.
He is not only responsible for developing and conducting high-impact research on sector trends and industry-related topics, but also actively participates in investor market briefings and external conferences. With a solid foundation in financial analysis built over nine years, Diego has a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the financial landscape but acknowledges its constant evolution that demands abiding preparation and debate.
Before joining Moody’s in 2021, Diego honed his skills in project finance at the Mexican development bank BANOBRAS. Here, he was instrumental in structuring, analyzing, and executing transactions for the development of renewable and thermal-based power generation projects in Mexico. This was preceded by his tenure at BBVA, where he worked in the corporate and investment banking team, providing coverage to a range of large multinational clients in various sectors.
Diego’s academic qualifications include a BS in Finance from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). Additionally, he is a CFA charterholder.
